About the Position:
Sunesis Construction is looking for a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The Diesel Mechanic will work on heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, off-road trucks and more. This position could be a traveling position as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Complete work orders in a timely manner.
- Check and review work in process and follow-up for completion as scheduled.
- Inspect and, if necessary, road test vehicles upon completion of work
- Assist in maintaining a clean shop and making sure that special tools and shop equipment are in proper operating condition.
- Document and update customer records based on interactions.
- Develop and maintain a knowledge base of the evolving products and services.
- Repair and preventative maintenance; examine vehicles to determine probable cause of vehicle problem and parts and work required to complete repairs.
- Truck engine maintenance; lube, oil, and filter
- Performs engine performance and wiring diagnostics to isolate performance problem(s) and complete necessary repair(s)
- Position includes the ability to offer input on purchase and replacement of all equipment in the fleet.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in service repair as lead mechanic or service management
- Computer skills
- Ability to prioritize and multitask managing daily work activities of semi-trailer mechanics and support service manager.
- Positive and professional demeanor
- Team player winning attitude.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Driver’s license required, CDL holder preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of diesel engines.
Experience:
- Diesel Mechanic: 5 years (Preferred)
- Mechanic: 5 years (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- CDL Class A or B (Preferred)
- Driver’s License (Required)
