Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented EHS Intern to join our team. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain practical, hands-on experience in a dynamic construction environment. The intern will work closely with our EHS professionals to support and implement safety programs, ensure regulatory compliance, and promote a culture of safety across all job sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Site Safety Inspections: Assist in conducting regular job site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards, non-compliance issues, and areas for improvement. Document findings and assist in developing corrective action plans.
  • Incident Investigation: Participate in the investigation of minor incidents, accidents, and near-misses. Help in root cause analysis and the development of preventive measures.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training sessions, and incident reports. Assist in the preparation of EHS reports and presentations for management.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Research and stay current on federal, state, and local EHS regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA). Help ensure that company policies and procedures are in line with all legal requirements.
  • Administrative Support: Assist with general administrative tasks, including organizing safety files, scheduling meetings, and managing safety data sheets (SDS).

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of OSHA regulations and general safety principles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Highly organized, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Must be able to wear and use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • A valid driver’s license is required as the intern may be required to travel to different job sites.
