Are you interested in gaining real-world construction experience while working alongside industry professionals? At Sunesis, our interns are active contributors, not observers. You’ll work directly with Project Managers and field teams, gaining hands-on exposure to the planning, coordination, and execution of heavy civil construction projects.
This internship offers a unique opportunity to learn how projects move from concept to completion while developing skills that can launch a successful career in the construction industry.
What You’ll Do
As a Project Manager Intern, you’ll support both office and field operations while gaining practical experience in project management. Responsibilities may include:
- Assisting Project Managers with planning, coordination, and project execution
- Participating in job site visits to monitor progress and observe construction activities
- Supporting project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, transmittals, and meeting records
- Assisting with project scheduling, milestone tracking, and reporting
- Learning budget management, cost tracking, and procurement processes
- Supporting invoice processing, quantity takeoffs, and material coordination
- Collaborating with subcontractors, vendors, and project stakeholders
- Assisting with change management and scope documentation
- Promoting a safe, organized, and quality-focused project environment
- Participating in team meetings and project planning discussions
Qualifications
We’re looking for motivated, detail-oriented individuals who are eager to learn and grow in the construction industry.
Required:
- Pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a team-oriented environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Preferred:
- Previous internship, co-op, construction, or trades experience
- Familiarity with construction drawings, scheduling, or project management concepts
