Help Build a Culture of Safety
Sunesis Construction is seeking a Safety Manager to lead safety programs, ensure regulatory compliance, reduce workplace incidents, and promote a strong safety culture across construction operations and fleet management.
What You’ll Do
Construction Safety
- Conduct jobsite inspections, audits, and safety training
- Develop and maintain safety programs, policies, and procedures
- Lead incident investigations and corrective actions
- Ensure OSHA compliance and maintain safety records
- Support JSAs, safety planning, and workers’ compensation programs
- Partner with project teams to promote a positive safety culture
Fleet Safety & Compliance
- Manage fleet safety programs and DOT compliance
- Monitor driver qualifications, certifications, and training
- Lead vehicle accident investigations and corrective actions
- Support audits, inspections, and compliance documentation
- Analyze safety trends and implement risk-reduction strategies
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Construction Management, or related field preferred
- 5+ years of construction safety experience
- 3+ years of fleet safety, DOT compliance, or transportation safety experience preferred
- Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and FMCSA regulations
- Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across departments
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety management systems
- OSHA 30 Certification required or ability to obtain
- Valid driver’s license
Physical Requirements
- Ability to travel to job sites throughout Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana
- Ability to work on active construction sites, navigate uneven terrain, and wear required PPE
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
