About Sunesis:

Sunesis Environmental provides demolition, asbestos abatement, environmental remediation and university construction to Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. This position will be located in our Chattanooga, Tennessee location. It will begin as a fully remote position with an office to soon follow.

About the Position:

We are currently looking to fill a full-time Project Manager/ Estimator positionThis role will oversee the day-to-day construction activities, project planning, scheduling, resource allocation and compliance with quality standards. Additionally, the project manager’s responsibilities will span a broad-spectrum including procurement, cost management, revenue and cost projections, quality management, contract administration and safety management. This position will also develop bids and cost estimates for demolition, remediation and construction projects. This employee will need to be able to read drawings and perform take offs. Knowledge of On Screen Take Off is preferred. Solicit material, equipment and other required to complete the estimate process. Attend project pre-bids as a necessary in order to learn logistics and types of structures to be demolished and or renovated. Follow up with potential clients and sell the services of Sunesis Environmental.

The ideal applicant will have knowledge of the industry in this area as well as working contacts and connections with industry contractors.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all phases of the construction project timeline, including developing an early construction plan.
  • Procurement of materials and subcontractors by evaluating subcontractor and supplier quotes for applicable scopes and materials.
  • Perform site visits and monitor progress of construction activities on a regular basis.
  • Identify and address changes in scope of work.
  • Develop and deliver weekly analysis reports, proposals and other required documentation related to specific projects.
  • Build, develop and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project.
  • Act as a liaison between the company and external contacts, municipalities, etc.
  • Maintain positive client relations throughout the duration of the project’s life cycle.
  • Oversee the punch list and closeout process.
  • Develop bids and prepare estimates for construction, demolition and remediation projects.

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks accordingly.
  • Self-motivated with excellent supervisory and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to adapt to change of direction with concurrent projects at a given time.
  • Knowledge of budgeting and cost forecasting
  • Familiar with and understand OSHA regulations, current building codes and contract documents.
  • Proficient in the use of a computer and specifically within Microsoft Office Suite and scheduling software
  • Knowledge of heavy highway, bridge or concrete construction and earthen retentions systems are a plus.

Education/Experience:

  • Four-year college degree in construction management preferred.
  • Applicants with a engineering degrees are also encouraged to apply.
  • Applicants with a two-year junior/community college degree may apply.
  • Minimum five years of project management / estimating or supervisory experience within construction industry or equivalent combination of education and knowledge with construction, design and management
